Meet Dr Andrea

Two decades of helping Durban North families move and feel better

Dr Andrea Rohrbeck has spent over two decades helping Durban North families move, function and feel better at every stage of life. Known by patients for her warmth and her knack for explaining complex conditions in plain, everyday language, Andrea believes that healing happens best when a patient understands their own body — and feels genuinely heard while they're figuring it out.

From newborns to grandparents, her focus has always been family practice — seeing every generation of a household and treating each person as a whole, not just a set of symptoms.

Her story

Rooted in chiropractic's original philosophy

Andrea qualified with her Master's Degree in Chiropractic from the University of Johannesburg in 2000 and moved to Durban North to begin practising — under the guiding hand of her aunt, Dr Bonnie Kotze, a graduate of Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa, the birthplace of chiropractic itself. Learning at the side of a Palmer-trained chiropractor gave Andrea a grounding in the profession's original philosophy: that the body has a natural capacity to heal, given the right support.

Between 2003 and 2006, Andrea also served as a lecturer and clinician at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) Chiropractic Day Clinic, where she supervised, mentored and evaluated final-year students as their legal licence-holder — guiding them in evidence-based practice and helping them refine their hands-on clinical skills. It's an experience that sharpened both her own technique and her ability to teach, a skill she still uses every day explaining conditions and care plans to her patients.

From the very beginning, Andrea's focus has been family practice — seeing every generation of a household, from newborns to grandparents. While raising her own three children through their school years in Durban North, she ran health and fitness classes for local families, focusing on core activation, balance, flexibility, strengthening and nutrition — work that deepened her belief that chiropractic care works best as part of a broader, active, whole-body approach to wellness.

My approach

Whole-person care, not just symptom relief

Chiropractic is about far more than cracking backs. It's a holistic health discipline that recognises the deep connection between your spine, nervous system, and overall wellbeing. When your spine is aligned and your nervous system is functioning optimally, your body is better equipped to heal, perform, and thrive.

I take a thorough approach to every consultation — listening carefully, examining properly, and explaining clearly. I want you to understand what's happening in your body and why, so you can make informed decisions about your care.

My goal is never to create dependency. I aim to get you better as efficiently as possible, give you the tools to maintain your health, and be here for you when you need me.
